Jury Sentences Tyler Clark to 60 years for Aggravated Assault of a Child

Aransas County—Tyler Clark, 26, was found guilty by a jury of his peers in the 36th Judicial District Court on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.  During the punishment phase, the jury sentenced Mr. Clark to 60 years in prison and gave him a $10,000 fine.  The State’s indictment included the sexual assault of a female victim who was a minor.   Without the hard work and foresight of the Aransas County Sheriff’s Department, DPS Special Agents and Crime Lab, Driscoll Children’s Care Team, Children’s Advocacy Center, Claudia Schmidt, LPC and the victim and their families, this outcome would not have been possible.

“Sexual contact with minors is forbidden and this office is dedicated to prosecuting criminals for this crime,” said Kristen Barnebey, Aransas County District Attorney. “Evidence in these cases can be difficult to obtain, however the diligence of Rodney Cox, investigator for ACSO, led to the apprehension and arrest of a known predator.  Prosecutors Kelsey Downing and Alex Hellerstedt delivered justice for this victim and this community.”

We encourage anyone who has had dealings with Tyler Clark to come forward.
